The body may produce hormones that cause calcium and phosphate to be let go from the bones. This leads to weak and soften the bones. This happens to kids or adults that live in climates with little exposure to sunlight, but it is rare for adults. If a kid is between 6-24 months old it is at risk .People do not drink milk products and don't follow a vegetarian diet are at a even greater risk. 2ND reason why you get rickets In this reason is that how you get rickets from 2 things. First is that how you breast feed and ,two how your eating effects you. First, baby's who are breast feed may get a deficiency. Human breast milk does not supply a proper amount of vitamin d. This can be a big problem for darker-skinned children in winter months when less sunlight goes or hits the baby. It occurs when the kidneys are unable to hold onto the mineral phosphate. Rickets may also be caused by kidney disorders. Disorders of any type reduce digestion or absorption of fats and minerals. That will make it harder for vitamin d to be absorbed into the body and bones. Occasionally rickets may occur in children who have disorders of the liver or who cannot digest vitamin d into the body. The goals of treatments are to relieve symptoms and correct the problems of the condition. The cause must be treated to prevent the disease from returning back. Replacing calcium, phosphorus, or vitamin D will eliminate most symptoms of rickets. Dietary sources of vitamin D are fish, milk, rice, orange juice, Button Mushrooms are the filled with vitamin D. Going out side into sunlight is very good. If rickets is caused by any metabolic problem. A different prescription for vitamin D pills may be needed. Some surgery's may be needed to help other symptoms. The maximum of one rickets treatment costs around $8,385.0 canadian dollars, this is adding medicine and treatment. You can prevent rickets by making sure that your child gets enough calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D in the diet. People who have disorders may need to take different or better medicine. Ask your child's doctor if you need more care and attention. If the kidney causes poor vitamin D absorption, that should be treated right away. People who have renal disorders should have their calcium and phosphorus levels monitored regularly. people who have a family history of disorders, that can also cause rickets. The disorder may be corrected by replacing vitamin D and minerals. X-rays usually improve after about 1 week, although in some cases may require large doses of minerals and vitamin D.
