Marie Van Brittan Brown was born in October 30, 1922 in Jamaica, Queens, New York.
Marriage and Family
Marie was married to Albert Brown, and had five children together.
Marie studied at Eastern Kentucky University, located in Richmond, Kentucky.

Marie was given an Award for the National Scientists Comittee (NSC).
Contributions to Society
Marie, along with her husband Albert, created and produced a series of home security systems. Their device was a system of motorized cameras with images shown on a remote control (CCVT); a remote control operated the door and an audio/video alarm system let the owner of the house know who was at the door before opening.
Together they completely revolutionized home security.
Hobbies / Interests
Marie loved her job so much that she devoted herself to giving other people in society the security in their homes that they deserved. She spent most of her time working on creating more and more security systems, along with her husband, Albert.
Marie Van Brittan Brown created an awesome security camera system for people's safety in their home.
A female black inventor far ahead of her time, Marie Van Brittan Brown created an invention that was the first in a long string of home security inventions that continue to flood the market today.
A very hardworking woman, she wanted for her invention to be a success.
Her husband, Albert helped her with the system invention, he was a major influence in her.
