Create a photo caption
WordSift is another free word cloud tool available on the Internet. Like Wordle, a word cloud is created based on text that is cut and pasted into the application.
Tagxedo turns words -- famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes -- into a visually stunning word cloud.

Wordle is a free Web application that allows you to create a word cloud based on the frequency of words in a particular text.

*It can be used to stimulate students' thinking about the meaning, importance, and relationship of words as they analyze, create, and publish Wordles.
The word cloud could prompt a discussion after reading the article, guided by questions such as,

Do you think the word cloud captured what was most important to learn?
Are there keywords or ideas that are left out?
What details reflect the main ideas?
How can I do this?!

*Establish a daily schedule/rotation.
Use a timer and elect one student to be the schedule keeper.
*Teaching procedures and expectations about computer use is ESSENTIAL! Students must understand volume/headphones, how to get on/off w/out disturbing those around them, following time rules or losing computer privelege's.
Teach social media etiquette, such as no names or personal information should be posted.
*Elect or establish a "Student Expert" to be the go to person or helper.
*Partners: benefit is to pair up a less skilled technician with a more advanced student to assist each other.
*Small group works together with assigned roles and a task sheet that must be checked off as they complete each task.
*Group creates a powerpoint presentation or prezi: 1 slide per student.
*Group records a podcast or imovie, etc...acting out each of the words or reading example sentences.
*Whole class engaged in same activity at the same time. Should always be
purposeful and specific.
*Tip: Train a few "Student Experts" or enlist an older mentor student to help everyone navigate their tasks.
Create an imovie acting out the vocabulary words or teach academic language/ISAT review.

Ex: figurative language movie acting out idioms and simile's, etc.
*Vocabulary Prezi's already exist and are searchable. Ex: prefix/suffix, geometry words, etc.
*Students create their own based on a book unit. Ex.: Charlottes Web Vocabulary
*Prezi is a great way to teach/show a visual representation of the sequence of a story.
