Welcome to Dark Ages Europe The Middle Ages (or Dark Ages) was the part of European history from the 5th century to the 15th century. It came after the fall of Rome in 476, and came before the Early Modern Era. It is the middle period in a three-period division of history: Classic, Medieval, and Modern.
