Zen and the Art of Faking It
By Jordan Sonnenblick

The problem in the story is that San is lying to people about being a "Zen Master" and everyone one believes the lie. When he goes too far the girl he likes(Woody) finds out that he has been lying the entire time.
The plot of Zen and the Art of Faking it is about a boy named San trying to impress a girl but goes to far and creates a lie about being a Buddhist Zen Master. He goes to far by continuously telling people he is a Buddhist by heart but really he was born in China and was adopted by an American ex husband and wife. Eventually Woody(the girl is is trying to impress) finds out he lied and won't talk to him until he finally sincerely apologizes and they become best friends again.
