An Inside Look at Chemicals
Different Chemicals in Cleaning Agents
There are a lot of chemicals contained in different cleaning agents but I will only be listing the very important chemicals that might have a dangerous effect to human health.
The Chemicals in Paint and Insecticide
Paint

White Pigment - Titanium Dioxide
Black Pigment - Carbon Black
Red Pigment - Iron Oxide and Cadmium Sulphide
Yellow/Orange Pigment - Metallic Salts
Blue/Green Pigment - Iron Blue and Chrome Yellow
Natural Food Additives
Preservatives - This additive reduces spoilage and prolongs the shelf life of food.
Antioxidants - This additive help preserve food by acting like oxygen for the food.
Acids - An additive to create sharper flavors for the food.
Flavoring - As the name suggests, this additive create specific flavors.
Flavor Enhancers - Another flavoring additive, but this one enhances already existing flavors.
Artificial Food Additives
Artificial food additives are like natural ones except they're made synthetically.

Just like natural food additives, there are also different kinds of artificial food additives, sometimes there are even artificial additives of natural additives such as artificial baking soda.

A few kinds of artificial additives are
Food Additives
Food additives are extra chemicals that have many different functions of their own. Some are used to preserve food and make them last longer, others are used for aesthetic appearances and make the food appear fresher to trick us into buying them. There's even a few additives that has a purpose of enhancing the taste of the food and make it addictive. Not all food additives are necessarily good for our health, a few could be poisonous if consumed a lot, and they might cause allergies or hyperactivity.
Psychotropic
There are three types:

Depressant - Drugs that slows down the central nervous system and can calm a person along with relaxing their muscles.
Stimulants - Drugs that increases alertness and physical activity.
Hallucinogens - Drugs that alters the perception view of a person and cause hallucinations.
Liquors & their Effects
Liquors or drinks that contains alcohol in them, can have some serious impacts on your health and body if you drink too much, either on one go or over time.

psychotropic
Drinking too much liquor disrupts your brain, causing a variety of effects that differs from one individual to another. These effects range from mood and behavioral changes to difficulty with thought and movements.
It damages a variety of your organs such as the heart, liver, and pancreas. It weakens your immune system and increases the chances of cancer.
Not just that, but drinking will make you drunk. No matter how much people say that being drunk is a good feeling, it comes with very heavy tolls.
In 2011, about 9,878 U.S citizens were killed in drunk driving crashes.

Unless you want to crush someone's heart, be viewed as a murderer and end up in prison then NEVER, EVER, drunk drive. (I'm looking at you, Justin Bieber)

Most, if not all psychotropic substances are very dangerous and illegal. But that depends on how you use it. A few psychotropic drugs are used for medical purposes.
Drug Addiction
Symptoms vary from drug to drug but generally the symptoms are:

Bloodshot or glazed eyes
Dilated pupils
Drastic changes in weight
Increased aggression or depression

Many people become addicted with taking drugs, few tried taking drugs because they were curious, or stressed, perhaps even peer pressured to try one and ended up becoming addicted because of its addictive elements. Whatever the cause is, these people need to be treated.
The best way to help a drug addict is by getting them into therapy, because most drug addicts need outside help.

While yes, it is true that some are bad for our health, especially artificial ones whereas natural additives are usually harmless, but there are a few additives which are quite safe and they do help improve the shelf life of our food. Very handy for people who cannot go to supermarkets whenever they want like soldiers and especially helpful during the zombie apocalypse.

Natural food additives are additives extracted from natural resources.

There are a few kinds of natural food additives which serves very different functions such as
Artificial Sweeteners - Synthesized sweeteners.
Artificial Flavors - Synthesized flavors.
Artificial Coloring - Synthesized coloring.

There is a difference between soap and detergent. Soap is produced through natural ingredients like lye, while detergent is usually produced though synthetically made ingredients.
Soap

Lye - It can burn skin, can cause blindness, can become a deadly gas.
If you want to see the full list, you should click on the hefty amount of resources I've provided.
Detergent

Nonylphenol Ethoxylate (NPE) - It can disturb hormones, reproductions, can enter your bloodstream and cause even more damage.
Shampoo and toothpaste aren't much different from each other, they both have something in common which is a dangerous chemical called SLS. Toothpaste have sweeteners though, for flavouring, because toothpaste were meant to go inside our mouth like mouthwash.

Only bleach has a certain chemical that no other cleaning agents have, and that's sodium hypochlorite. This chemical is why your clothes turn white.
http://www.smartklean.com/html/the_truth.html
We need to use most of these chemicals because they're very important in our daily lives. Some of these chemicals are quite dangerous and unnecessary, but the others are completely necessary, whether it be food preservatives or chemicals to kill fleas. Just make sure that there aren't too many of the chemicals though.

To avoid dangerous side effects from dangerous chemicals, read the ingredients list of the product first, research about the product, look up reviews of other people's experience with the product, etc. You'll know what could be lurking in there.
