Transcript of Creating A Survey

? Creating a survey
that will provide you with accurate results requires the consideration of three things.
1) The Question
2) The People
3) The Data Collection One of the most important aspects of a
survey is the questions that you are
going to ask. The
Question When a question influences responses
that are in favour of, or against the
topic of data collection. Bias When the language used can lead people
to give a certain answer. Use of Language ? ? ? When preparing your survey it is
important to consider people's
customs and traditions. Cultural
Sensitivity The
People Ethics The data that you collect must be used
only for the purposes described to the participants. Privacy Sometimes the collection of data
can be personal and the participants
may not want to participate. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Data
Collection The third and final thing that you have to look at is how and when you are going to collect the data. Timing When the survey is asked can lead to certain results. ? ? Cost The cost of of collecting data
must be accounted for when
preparing a survey. Time Collecting data takes time and it will vary depending on the scope of the survey. $ $ $ $ We can either survey everyone or a small selection of people Group

should be able to plan
and create an
accurate
survey. ? ) - . . $ Task: Create
a survey for PWK students that gets accurate data. Remember! 1 -Review the three considerations in creating a survey 2 - Your population is the school 3 - Data must be collected outside of class time to be analyzed during

about who is going to be answering the questions
as well as what you are going to be doing with the data that you collect. "Would you support an increase in taxes to create more skate parks." After the school won the indoor soccer
championship the teachers polled the
students about school spirit When doing a survey on school wide bullying the vice principal interviewed students and asked how often they bully other kids. EX) Carolyn wanted to find out how many hours a week students at her school spend on the computer. She polled the students in
