8.Have Establish my job and career Midrange goal : My midrange goal is to graduate of high school and enroll at CCCUA for two years here at DeQueen. Long-range goal: Have completed my training for medical assistant and found a job as a medical assistant and have my house,car How im going to pay for college? Well Im going to see if i can get any scholarships to help me or apply for FASFA and if NOT then i will work to pay my college. Medical Assisting classes to take in CCCUA GPA My GPA for this year is 3.5 but hopefully it can go up at least a little bit.
I'm planning to take my ACT for the first time in April. I'm planning to register for any scholarship i can and hoping by the end of my senior year i will have the right point average and a good ACT score to qualify for a scholarship. WHAT IS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT? Im planning on going to CCCUA here in DeQueen.
Im planning to stay here because CCCUA is close to home and i wont have to move away from my family and have to move with my daughter. Salary per week/month Median annual wage for a medical assistant was $29,100 in 2011, up slightly from the prior year. The best-paid 10 percent of medical assistants made $40,810, while the bottom 10 percent made approximately $20,880. The highest wages are found working in physicians’ offices or hospitals.In Arkansas the annual wage is 39,000 Medical assistants typically does the following:
Take patient history and measure vital signs
Help the physician with patient examinations
Give patient injections as directed by the physician
Schedule patient appointments
Prepare blood for laboratory tests
Taking and recording vital signs and medical histories
Preparing patients for examination
Drawing blood
Administering medications as directed by the physician
Discussing prescriptions and nutrition with patientscheduling appointments
Maintaining medical records
Billing and coding for insurance purposes
Preparing correspondenceManaging finances Medical assistants complete administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, podiatrists, and other health practitioners. Their duties vary with the location, specialty, and size of the practice. A medical assistant get paid $14.67 per hour. Education On average, a medical assistant spends two years in a training program that results in an associate's degree or a certificate. Medical assistants typically have a high school diploma or equivalent. There are no formal educational requirements for becoming a medical assistant in most states. However, some medical assistants graduate from formal education programs, and employers may prefer such training. Programs are available from community colleges, vocational schools, technical schools, or universities and take about 1 year to complete. These programs usually lead to a certificate or diploma. Some community and junior colleges offer 2-year programs that lead to an associate’s degree.
