What does a work day look like for a truck driver?
A Typical work day for a truck driver is 14 hours in total!
Driving Hours
Drivers can drive for 11 hours per day, but must take a 30 minute break after 8.
How does the 14 hour day breakdown?
On Duty Hours
Drivers can be on duty without driving. Time taken for things like loading or unloading are a perfect example of this. So if the driver must drive his full 11 hours, this only leaves 3 hours for on duty time in the 14 hour day.
