John Flynn had formed a team of over 1,500 team members to help save lives all around Australia.

His team have been serving Australia for 85 years since 1982.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service has 26 bases, 5 health facilities and 10 other facilities (including marketing, fund raising and public relations as well as the national office).

The royal flying doctor service has caused lasting changes for Australia and for the people in Australia.
Why is the royal flying doctor service important?
The royal flying doctor service has been important to Australia because it helps the people who aren't near hospitals or medical facilities.

After 11 years of campaigning (with the support of another Australian institution, QANTAS) John Flynn's dream became another reality.

During it's first year of service they flew over 50 flights to 26 destinations, to plant their bases. In that year they had served over 2,250 patients. With the help of their air-craft (PC-12) their flights have been alot easier.
