Animal Farm Chapter titles

Chapter 1: A Dream

I chose "A Dream" as the title for chapter 1 to represent Old Major's vision and because of this quote from the book, "That is my message to you comrades: Rebellion! I do not know when the Rebellion will come, it might be in a week or in a hundred years, but I know, as surely as I see this straw beneath my feet, that sooner or later justice"(Orwell 5)

Chapter 2: A New Beginning

I chose "A New Beginning" as the title for chapter 2 because of this quote from the book "Major's speech had given to the more intelligent animals on the farm a completely new outlook on life. They did not know when the rebellion predicted by Major would take place , they had no reason for thinking that it would be within their own lifetime, but they saw clearly that it was their duty to prepare for it"(Orwell 9)

Chapter 3: Animalism

I chose the title "Animalism" for this chapter because of this quote from chapter 3 "After much though snowball declared that the seven commandments could in effect be reduced to a single maxim, namely: Four legs good, two legs bad. This, he said, contained the essential principle of Animalism"(Orwell 21)
Chapter 4: Battle of the Cowshed

"There was much discussion as to what the battle should be called. In the end, it was named the Battle of the Cowshed, since that was where the ambush had been sprung"(Orwell 29)
Chapter 5: Snowball vs Napoleon

"The two disagreed at every point where disagreement was possible"(Orwell ) because of this quote I chose Snowball vs Napoleon as the title for this chapter.

Chapter 6: Slow Process

"Frequently it took a whole day of exhausting effort to drag a single boulder to the top of the quarry and sometimes when it was pushed over the edge it failed to break"(Orwell )I chose this quote because this shows a perfect example of how slow the process was.
Chapter 7: Out of Food

"The corn ration was drastically reduced, and it was announced that an extra potato ration would be issued to make up for it"(Orwell )I chose this quote because it shows how the food was reducing.
Chapter 8: The Changes

The title I chose for chapter 8 is "The Changes". The reason for this title is, in this chapter the animals realize the commandments keep changing "No animal shall kill another" to adding "without cause" and "No animal shall drink alcohol" to adding "to excess" on the end. Mr.Fredrick attacks animal farm, leaving several animals dead, the windmill destroyed and Boxer injured.

Chapter 9: Boxer Struggles

The reason I chose "The Struggles" as the title for chapter 9 is in this chapter Boxer is injured and he refuses to leave his work. His coat isnt as shiny and his strength is weaker. One day. Boxer collapses and he is sent to a human hospital where he then dies. Before he passes he says "Forward in the name of the Rebellion. Long live Animal Farm! Long live camrade Napoleon! Napoleon is always right! (Orwell 83)

Chapter 10: Pigs or Humans?

I chose "Pigs or Humans" as the title for chapter 10 because in this chapter the pigs, including Squealer and Napoleon walking on their hind legs and the sheep following them chanting "Four legs good, Two legs better". Now, only one commandment remains; which is "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others"(Orwell 90)
