Transcript of My Little Pony and Civic Virtue

Research Question
H1: The ruling class of alicorns of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is able to stay in power because of a mix of fear and engrained civic virtue.

H2: This reflects the adult viewers pessimistic view of the current American government and their low voting patterns, but high sense of civic virtue.
Is the ruling class of alicorns of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic able to stay in power because of a sense of civic virtue felt by the ponies of Equestria or because of fear? Does that reflect and/or influence how the adult viewers feel about their current government and their voting and other civic patterns?

Quotes From Survey
Environment Issues: Do you believe that MLP:FiM influenced your opinion?
"No, I've always felt this way."
"It's quite possible. I do definitely prefer the government and society in My Little Pony. Ponies can grow up to do whatever their special talent is, and a lot of emphasis is placed on talent. They don't actively try to make themselves rich (Except maybe Flim and Flam but that's another story entirely), instead, they just do what the love. Happiness and friendship far outweigh the monetary concerns that our people are plagued with."
"Nope, it is a TV show you **** head"

"A little"

"I feel my enjoyment of MLP is due to my political alignments possibly but i cant say they have had any direct effect"
"eh, not really.
strengthens MAYBE"
