Skeletal system function A. support- skeleton provides the shape and structure of our body. B. protection- it protects all of our major organs in our body. C. the bones work as levers witch allow the body to move in different directions D.without muscles the bones cant function Main parts- the two main parts in the skeletal system is axiel and appendicular. These main parts keep a leverage for muscles and provide mineral storage Main parts How the skeletal system works with other systems A. protects the brain B. supports skin C. white and red blood cells are made from bone marrow Diseases The most common diseases which do affect the skeletal system is scoliosis, arthritis, and bone cancer. For scoliosis you can either have surgery or a brace. hydroxychloroquine, gold, penicillamine, azathioprine, sulfasalazine and methotrexate are the cures for arthritis. Fun Facts 1.The bone which is broken the most is the collarbone.2 A baby is born with more bones than an adult.3 The threesmallest bones in your body are in your ear.4 The biggest bone in your body is your femur. 5 the hyoid bone in your throa is the only bone which is not connected to anything. Keeping the skeletal system healthy To keep the skelatal system healthy you must consume 1000 to 1200 calories daily. Also consume foods high in vitamin D. Drink a lot of milk. Excercising makes your bones stronger, brushing your teeth helps as well.
