Test style question 1

If the Milky way were the size of a DVD
how much of the Universe could we fit in this room? (hint our galaxy is 100,000 ly)
A Only our galaxy
B Only one other galaxy
C Our local cluster of galaxies
D All of it.
Test question 2

The use of a prism to create a spectrum of light emitted from a galaxy allows one to:
A. Know the contents of a galaxy
B. Know the motion of a galaxy
C. Know the distance of a galaxy
D. All the above
E. A and B only
Test question 3

Which has the shortest wavelength?

A Infrared light
B Visible light
C ultraviolet Light
D Microwaves
E X rays

True or false
A. True
B. False
My thoughts on the Big Bang
A. It happened. It is the physical tool used for the creation of galaxies.
B. I think there is another answer for what evidence we see, but we haven't found it yet, until then I'll stick with the Big Bang as the process.
C. I understand and believe the evidence shown points towards the Big Bang, but I don't think it is true.
D. It did not happen. The galaxies as we see them are how they are because this is how God made them.
1. Distances
a. speed of light
b. ly, light year (moon, sun, solar,sys..)
2. Scaling
a. Oreo cookie (solar system to star)
b. Dvd (galaxy to universe)
3. Light
a. wavelengths
b. info gleaned from light
i. elements, distance, velocity
c. Back in time
4. Expansion
a. Doppler effect
b. Hubble
5. Elements
a. Nucleosynthesis
b. Distribution of elements
6. Big bang
