The first horse he encounters is lightning. He is living in harpers house because his stall is out of order but also because lightning is Harpers faverate horse. The second horse he encounters is a new horse and hasnt been named. So he names him Boo.at first he it takes a while for cole to get used to horses but after he does he loves Boo.

SUMMARY
The ghetto cowboy is a book about a boy named Phillip who is forced to move to philly from Detroit.After his mom found out out that he has been skipping school.The person who his is moving with is Harper (his dad who he can only remember meeting a couple of times).
While leaving his mom hits a horse and a man named Jamcan Bob had to shoot it.That was when cole realizes that this part of the city has horses.
