1.) Name three words that end in -ar.
2.) If you speak Spanish, how do you conjugate hablar?
3.) What is the largest group of endings in infinitive form of Spanish verbs? Hint: (-er, -ir, or -ar)
4.) When would you drop -ar off of a verb?
All infinitive forms of Spanish verbs end in -ar, -er, and -ir.

-ar is the largest group of those verbs

If not in infinitive form(hablar), you have to drop -ar and make changes.

Hablar plus dropped ar= habl which is the stem of the word.

Then you add an ending such as -o, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, or -an
Examples of -ar verbs



Hablo español means I speak Spanish or I am speaking Spanish

Hablas español means you can speak Spanish or you are speaking Spanish
Verb endings tell who is speaking.

Subject pronouns such as (ella or él) are used for clarification or emphasis
