Introduction Conclusion Gap Year definition The Gap Year Importance The Importance of doing a Gap Year in an English speaking country Types of Gap Year A gap year is a period of time when students take a break from formal education to travel, volunteer, study or work. A gap year is also referred to as a deferred year, year out, year off, time out, and time off. A gap year experience can last for several weeks, a semester, or up to a year or more. Typically a gap year is taken between high school graduation and starting college, during college, or between college and starting graduate school or a career.

Advantages and disadvantages Gap Year in Australia Advantages Disadvantages With this work we expect to expose to people clearly what is a gap year and for those that already know at is, show the importance of doing it.
The gap year concept has its origins in the UK, and since the 1990's taking time out has become a right of passage for tens of thousands of UK students. The gap year is becoming increasingly popular with US students.
Studies have been conducted by leading universities that conclusively show that students who take a year out before college are more focused and motivated when they arrive on campus than those who don't take this detour.
Throughout the work we were going to show several advantages and disadvantages of doing a gap year, with this we have the intention of create a mark in peoples mind, so they can choose for themselves if it pays do a gap year. With the elaboration of this work we learn more about the gap year, the importance of doing it and what are the advantages and disadvantages.
After our research we concluded that this work was very informative investigate about this theme since we are students and some of us are thinking seriously about doing or not a gap year, this work allowed us to better organize the ideas in our heads.
We hope that our work also help other people get informed and facilitate choices relatively to the gap year.
Gap Year is important for many students because during this year they may clarify any question that may arise in the future, not at the risk of repenting of the decisions they make. Many people use this year to go for a paid job in order to gain work experience and become financially prepared to go to college. Broaden horizons;
Increases maturity, self-confidence and sense of responsibility;
Gain a year of work experience;
Can try different careers;
Do some volunteer work and help the others people living in poverty;
Large variety of new skills and contacts;
Help the environment;
It could be a year lost;
May forget what have learned at school;
May be expensive if are not paid for work;
May have to leave family and friends;
Difficulty getting back to routine;

GAP YEAR Our opinion Australia is one of the most popular gap year destinations in the world. With its varied landscape and attractions such as the Great Barrier Reef and miles of pristine beaches it attracts thousands of gapers looking for some sun and a great time.

In Australia we have the opportunity to:

Buckaroo on a farm;
Learn to surf at Bondi Beach;
Learn to dive on the Great Barrier Reef;
Visit Aboriginal sites;
Experience city life in Sydney;
Road trip in your own campervan;
Get close up with crocs;

Australia is a great option for the first time traveller. The Working Holiday Scheme means you can spend a whole year there and see what it’s like to be a true Australian and really get a feel for the country.
All the members in the group think in the same way, we all were able of doing a Gap Year, for us this experience is a great opportunity of learning more and mature before college, we have the opportunity of fell how is the real life and be aware of how things work.
We think that is a good initiative and we are really excited to try it.
It is important to do a gap year in an English speaking country
because that way we can deepen our knowledge in that specify language, since English is a universal language and we will be able to communicate with most of the people on the planet.
