Persepolis Panel Analysis Part 3 Reading
This right here is the caption which shows what occurred in the future in a summarized sort of way so that we can understand the story itself better.

Panels
In this case the gutters seem to not have an extreme importance.
We can see that by the different size of this panel, that this is an important event because Marji is discussing her future with her boyfriend. For the second one we can see it also has a different size because they are talking about what they did for a long time in Iran which was important to the story itself.
From this panel to the other panel there is a subject to subject transition because it shows Marji speaking and then the boyfriend in the same scene. This is done to shows us the intensity or importance of their conversation,

This captions shows us what happened a few months later to skip a bit of time and make us understand why the events that happen later happened in the first place

Transitions
Between these two panels we can see there is a scene to scene transition because we are changed completely of location and it says a few months later which means from one panel to the other we are in different dates meaning that probably that between this time the only event that was important for Marji was getting into the university which means that what happened between those two wasn't really important, but it also shows the importance of getting accepted into college for the story.
Transitions
From one panel to the other we see an action to action transition because we are just shown what Marji goes through from the waiting room to the interview room. It is just to show that the moment had to be nerve racking for her because they showed us how she passes from one room to the other as if it was important.
Transitions
From one panel to the other we can see that there is a moment to moment transition because barely anything occurs between the two it shows a bit of close up on the characters but that it is it. It could be that way to show the intensity of the moment because this after all decided whether she went to college or not

This caption shows the future events that happened after this event

Speech Bubble
All the panels that have light green high lighter it is moment to moment because there is barely any change between the panels since they are just talking in the same place which means, that the conversation was so interesting they didn't even move, or that the author wants us to take note of the conversation.
Transitions

When these two panels come up there is a transition of subject to subject because it is showing the other girls that were in the same place but watching Marji speak which shows us how they were talking behind her back.
