Peer pressure is the pressure to do things you might not do on your own
Peers are people that are similar to you
Your peer group can influence your values
Not always bad, and can lead to good results
Peers can give you good feedback
For example: Peers can pressure you to do homework
What causes peer pressure?
When you hang out with peers, they can make unfair demands of you
Use different methods
Use suggestions or thoughts
Also, can be pressured by media, TV and magazines
Teen suicide is a voluntary and intentional act of taking one's own life
5 million people have attempted suicide
Every 80 seconds a teenager attempts to commit suicide
Every 100 seconds a teen actually commits suicide
How To Stop It
Seeing people and connecting with them
Talk openly about your thoughts
Talk to a counselor
Avoid drugs and alcohol
Promise not to do anything
Change in eating or sleeping habits
Withdrawal from friends family and regular activities
Violent actions or trying to run away
Boredom, difficulty concentrating, or decline in school work
Not tolerating praise or rewards
