Timed Defrost
Demand Defrost
Defrosts controlled by a time clock and occur 4 to 6 times per day. Each defrost cycle consumes electricity and raises the box temperature, requiring additional compressor run time to pull temperature back down.
Defrosts occur only when needed which results in reduced energy consumption, prolonged equipment life, reduced compressor pull down time and more consistent product temperatures. In many cases, customers report 36 hours between defrost cycles - six timed defrost cycles compared to one.
