Putting Strays to Use
Transcript of Putting Strays to Use
Every year, approximately 7.6 million animals enter animal shelters nationwide, and 2.7 million animals are euthanized.
It is impossible to determine how many stray dogs and cats live in the United States; estimates for cats alone range up to 70 million.
Only 15-20% of stay dogs are found by their owners.
Short Term Goals
Up to 5 suitable puppies will be rescued and trained to be service dogs.
10+ dogs will be rescued and taken to the Dumb Friends League for care and adoption.
We will also train all the suitable older dogs that we rescue to be companion or therapy dogs.
Long Term Goals
The mission of Giving Strays a Purpose is to reduce the abundant stray dog population and to give them purposeful and happy lives.
To train a service dog takes 12 to 24 months
We plan to hire 2 trainers in order to easily and quickly get 5 dogs trained
$5,100 per dog per year. This goes towards vet bills, trainers, service gear, food, treats, and toys.
Plus expenses for scouting out strays.
How many stray animals do you think are euthanized each year?
How many companion animals do you think enter shelters each year?
How many stray dogs do you think are found by their owners?
Why Should You Donate?
90% of your money will go to scouting out stray dogs, and the yearly cost for each dog.
6% of your money will go to spreading awareness of what we are doing as an organization.
4% of your money goes to management
This is a non-profit organization
Help both humans and dogs
Decrease stray dog population
Increase service dog population
One day we hope to train and rescue up to 15 dogs a year, however the cost of that would be too expensive for starting an organization.

Who's Getting Helped
These dogs that were once starving out on the streets will now be one of the following:
A K9 Unit dog/ Security dog
A seeing eye dog/ A hearing aid dog
A dog that helps people with paralysis
Or a companion/therapy animal for the elderly and people with disabilities.
Thank You for Listening!!!
Your donation can give stray dogs an opportunity to have a purposeful and happy life. These dogs should not be considered a nuisance, but rather as another living creature that we share this Earth with. These animals should not be abused and neglected, they should be rehabilitated and cared for. With the help from your donations we can give strays a purpose.
