Top Row of Call Number
tells which section of library
to find book in.
For example in the call number
FIC
MEY
we know to look in the fiction section for this book
For the call number

We know to look in the
Story Collection
For the call number
SP
LAN

We know to look in the
Spanish Language Section
of the libray.
For the call number
PB
FIC
COL
Still in the Fiction Section
Number on the top of the
call number indicates a
non-fiction book.
If the call number
has letters above the
number the book will not
be in the non-fiction section
of the library.
That book will be in a special section of the library such as Arkansas, Parent, or Graphic
The call number for
a book in the Arkansas
section will look like this

The non-fiction section
of the library includes all
the books on the wall by
the 300's hallway.
The taller shelves on each end
hold the parent
collection, and the Arkansas Collection
When you find the
book you are looking for go to the check-out station
Look at the person talking to you!

Most call numbers in this library
have no numbers in them at all!
