"random" numbers to generate a "random" map. In the seed, the map generator recognizes patterns and numbers to generate a world based on the seed. The world could then be all water, super flat, or with giant mountains all based on the seed. The seeds are cool because you can enter any numbers to create a world and it will be totally unique and different from any other map. Map Seeds Markus Persson is the creator of Minecraft. Minecraft started as an independent project while he was working at King.com and later jAlbum. Inspirations for his innovation were the games Dwarf Fortress, Dungeon Keeper, and Infiminer. Infiminer had the most impact on Minecraft, it inspired the first person aspect of the game, the "blocky" visual style and the block-building of the game. Markus (Notch) Persson Minecraft can be played in three different modes.
Creative- No heath or hunger bars, unlimited amounts of any blocks, the ability to fly and breath underwater.
Survival- You must eat to fill your hunger bar , if you loose all of your hunger bars you die. When you are hit by mobs or other players you loose health bars. You also take fall damage which takes away health bars.
Hardcore Survival- This is the same thing as survival but with extra mobs. Also when you die you cannot
re-spawn which forces you to delete the world. About the Game Bukkit servers are run through a program called bukkit. Bukkit servers are secure servers. Only people with premium minecraft accounts can access bukkit servers. Bukkit is also more secure than vanilla servers because you can kick or ban the IP (location/device) that the account is on so that whole computer would be banned from the bukkit server. On a bukkit server you can download things called plugins. Plugins have special commands that make the server better. Multiplayer Bukkit Servers A vanilla server is not as secure as a bukkit server. On a vanilla server anyone who has Java can play. All they need is a free account. On vanilla servers you can download things to the server called mods. Mods are mini programs that do different things for the server. Multiplayer Vanilla Servers About Mods/Plugins What is Minecraft? Minecraft is a computer game invented by Markus (Notch) Persson. Markus owns his own company called Mojang and Mojang owns Minecraft. Recently Mojang has come out with Minecraft versions for Xbox and a Minecraft Pocket Edition.
As of December 2012 Minecraft has sold over 17.5 copies.
Minecraft is a game in which you can either use unlimited supplies to build to your imaginations content or gather supplies, survive and thrive in the wilderness. There are different biomes in the worlds and each biome has its own quirk. Then we get to the mining. You can use a pickaxe to mine cobblestone, coal, iron, gold, diamond, redstone and lapis lazuli ores. With iron, gold, and diamond you can craft tools and armor to help protect yourself while in battle with mobs or other players. Mobs Mob means moving game entity like a monster or an animal. There are two types of mobs hostile mobs, and neutral. Hostile mobs attack you when you get within 20 block of them. A few hostile mobs are zombies, skeletons and spiders. Neutral mobs just walk around and when you kill them they drop items like raw meat which you can cook in a furnace for food. A few neutral mobs are pigs, cows and sheep. A mod/plugin is anything that improves the server. Mods each do a small job and usually come with a few commands. For example the xray mod. With the xray mod whenever you press X the ground is invisible but you can see where the ores are. Another example is the minions mod. This mod gives you four minions who can chop wood, gather food, or dig mines for you. An example of a plugin is the falseblood plugin. Falseblood comes withe a few commands that turn a player into a vampire. the player then has vampire qualities like burning in the sun. Made by JJ Isbell
