SHOCKING TRUTH!!!
"GLOBALLY, ADULTS ARE 16.5 MILLION TONS OVERWEIGHT"
- TIME, HEALTH & FAMILY, 2012
"In 2011-12, around 60% of AUSTRALIAN ADULTS were classified as overweight or obese, and MORE THAN 25% of these fell into OBESE category (ABS 2012)."
WOW! That is a HUGE NUMBER!!!
So, What is OBESITY all about?
The W.H.O. defines overweight and obesity as an abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that is risky to our health.

"If your Body Mass Index is greater than or equal to 30,
you are OBESE
." - W.H.O.

I don't eat that much. Maybe my metabolism is slow.
Hhhhhmmm... i love my lifestyle...
I'm okay I don't really mind being fat.
Maybe I'm born this way...
excessive fat!
You may not care, but we do!!!
OBESITY
is about
US!!!
BESITY is not just about you.
"Studies show that there is a strong link between obesity and depression."
- Adelaidean, Nov. 2009
First, I need you to know...
"Obese People...
...experience weight related stigma and discrimination, and consequently present with symptoms of...
- Adelaidean, Nov. 2009
LOW SELF ESTEEM,
LOW SELF-WORTH
and GUILT."
Not everyone will agree with my thoughts...
but this is REALITY.
ECONOMIC IMPACT OF OBESITY
"Across developed nations, the economic burden of obesity is estimated to be at around 10% of total health care cost, and expected to grow."
"In 2008, the costs associated with obesity in Australia were estimated, more than $58 billion and will rise more in the future."
"Obesity costs Australia more than $56 billion per year."
"Projected health care costs revealed that by 2018, obesity-related medical expenses will top $344 billion in the US."
My friends who admit themselves as obese use to tell me these excuses...
You don't need to say anything, we can feel you.
OBESITY IN AUSTRALIA NEEDS URGENT ACTION
"Health problems related to excess weight impose substantial economic burdens on individuals, families, and communities.
"Obesity was associated with over 4 million days lost from Australian workplaces in 2001. Obese employees tend to be absent from work due to illness significantly more often than non-obese workers, more likely 'not in the labour force'."
I don't want to be a burden...
I want to help my family, friends and society.
What should I DO, to CHANGE?
I'll give you a handful of tips...
these are what we WANT to EAT... right?
PROCESSED FOODS
Ever wonder how is it made?
I'll tell you, For example the famous CHIPS...
Potatoes are delivered in the plant, fresh from the farm.
Potatoes are peeled off by the machine.
Potatoes are then cut into strips.
The strips goes to blancher machine and prolong its preservation period.
Quality Control before packaging of the chips.
Chips ready to serve!
Knowing how it was made...
Are processed foods risky to my health?
"Natural fibers, enzymes, vitamins of packaged foods have been altered and removed to prolong shelf-life.
Consumption of it will disrupt good bacteria and increase infection
."
"Studies show that refined sugars, processed flours, vegetable oils, and other artificial ingredients
cause inflammation and leads to chronic illness
."
"Real foods rot and grow molds. Oppositely processed foods remain the same in appearance, shape no matter what their age.
Nutritional value has been tampered and modified
."
Processed Foods are RISKY TO OUR HEALTH because...
Yes, Processed Foods are
