Transcript of Causes Of Crime

Causes Of Crime
An estimate of over five hundred thousand crimes are committed in America each year. Those are only the recorded numbers. There are many unrecorded.
BUT WHY?
Why do people commit crimes?
Is it drug related?
By Rori Reihana
Or is it just out of boredom?
32.2% of teens have drank before 13 .
53 per cent of young offenders said they had committed the crime because of peer pressure
Each year, more than 600,000 students between the ages of 18 and 24 are assaulted by another student who has been drinking.
As a teenager, there are likely to be many times when you feel a certain amount of pressure to drink alcohol before the legal age.
Are people influenced by video games?
What about Music ?
Can lyrics to a rap influence people to commit crimes?
"Grab a couple friends, start a couple riots

Crash a couple-

Gather all the bullies, crush them motherf******
Odd Future hooligans causing up a ruckus

It's us, n****
I said it's us, n****"
Tyler The Creator – Pigs
Or could Graffiti influence the minds of criminals?
Perhaps all these factors contribute to people committing crime

I believe one of Adam Lanza's (Sandy Hook Killer) motive was from playing video games.

In 1992 Body Count ft. Ice-T released a song called "Cop Killer". There was a debate on whether ideas on killing police should be expressed publicly.

In my opinion I don't believe that music could push a person into causing crime.
About 51% of crimes in New Zealand are committed under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs.

In my opinion i believe drugs are a huge factor to causes of crime.
According to a survey which was done in 2002 by MORI, seven in 10 parents believe young people commit crime because they have nothing to do and nowhere to go.
