A Modern Twist on Sleeping Beauty

Although my aunts told me not to talk to strangers, I'm sure they'll like this guy! I don't know his name, but I have a feeling we're meant to be together. Judge me if you will, but we really connected.

I'm so devastated! My aunts just told me I'm a princess and that I can't be with the guy I met in the woods! I should be able to choose who I want to marry. Arranged marriages are so last millennium! Oh, and to top it all off, my name isn't even Briar Rose; apparently it's Aurora...

We finally made it back to the castle to meet my parents! And of course you guys know how the rest of the story goes...

Yeah, touching that spindle wasn't my smartest moment. Apparently Maleficent put a curse on me when I was a baby, and now I'm destined to sleep until my true love kisses me. How demeaning! Women can fend for ourselves!

While I was out picking berries for my aunts, I met someone! I'll admit it was kind of weird that he started dancing with me without asking, but he was the most romantic guy I've ever met!

My aunts took me to the castle where I am to meet my parents. While I was in my room crying, I saw a green light that led to this spindle. Maybe touching the spindle wasn't the best idea...

Although I totally could have taken down that Maleficent myself, Prince Philip——apparently the guy I met in the woods is who I'm actually supposed to marry——slayed her with the help of my fairy godmothers' magic. Then he came and woke me from my sleep. Good thing I actually liked this guy, otherwise kissing me would have been a complete violation! Fairy tales are so overrated sometimes.

16 Years Later...

My name is Briar Rose, and today is my 16th birthday! I think my aunts might be up to something!
