Windows Movie Maker
Brief
History
Upon Opening Movie Maker...
The first thing you see
SHOULD
be this. It's called a

Movie maker has come a
long way
from when it was first released, making it incredibly easy to
upload videos and photos
(so long as they are in the
supported formats
).
When trimming

a video file...
On the
storyboard
, select the video file you want to
trim

When adding visual effects:
Click on the
Visual Effects Tab
, and this is what you should see.

What is Windows Movie Maker?
It is a
basic video editing program

made by Microsoft.
Brief
History
Basic stuff like
importing videos
and
adding music
adding other effects like
titles and credits
On this presentation we will learn:
Pictures, video clips,
music, and sounds can be
added and combined
to make photo albums, movies, or presentations.
Easy to upload to
social network sites
like Youtube, Facebook, etc.
Arguably the
most popular
freeware video editing software available
Ian Mercer,
a graduate from Jesus College at Cambridge, England, had
this idea
of video editing by the common consumer.
Somwhere in the mid-90's....
This version had only a
few features
, and could not even compete the then more famous and powerful
iMovie
for the Mac.
A
more improved
version 2 was released alongside Windows XP in 2003, and from then on,
newer versions
with added features were constantly released and updated every few years.
The latest, Movie Maker 2012, is
version 15
.
He proposed this to
Bill Gates
, who in turn
accepted
the idea. A team was soon formed to develop the
MediaPad project
.
Of course, the project was eventually renamed to
Movie Maker,
and version 1.0 was shipped in the Windows Millennium (ME) operating system in late 2000.
How come I can't add music?!
You can only import videos or photos
first
before adding
any sound files
.
Click the
trim tool
, which is located on the edit tab highlighted by the
Video Tools tab
Click and drag either the
left bar
or
right bar
as
indicated
to the desired
starting
or
ending
times
Or to be more specific, enter the start and end time in the
indicated tool bars
A
similar toolbar
is available when
editing music
Hover the mouse over a desired effect to
preview
what it will look like in the video
Title, Caption & Credits
In the Home tab, click on the title, caption, or credits as
indicated
The
Format tab
becomes available
A
text box
also appears, indicating what you want to say
Finishing Up
Once done, simply click on the main menu and click
save as project
, or
save movie
.
You can also
publish your movie
, and share it to your preferred social media sites.
