What is the bohemian subculture? Material culture One example of the bohemians material culture is their clothing or style, they usually wear baggy comfortable clothing made of natural fibers, for example for females they would wear ruffly floral skirts looking nomadic, spiritual and non-bourgeois, also they would wear maxi dresses, in general they wear loose peasant blouses, wide boat neck, boho skirts, and kaftans. Another example of material culture is the frequent use of drugs and alcohol for inspiration. Their jobs are the perfection of literature or art. Some examples of the bohemians non material culture is the habit of lack of hygiene, their morals are less strict they live care free lives having open sexula freedom, they also reject the pursuit of wealth by living solely for art and literatures sake, they dont have any permanent residence and survive with little material wealth. Values Some of the bohemain values are that they reject living in private property, they lived or live on cafes, streets, libraries, and other public places were they also worked. They share lodging with other bohemian companions, they poses few worldly belongings at all. Most of them are overtly promiscuous, they feel the need to express and assert themselves, being at such a social and economic disavantage. Drugs and alcohol are used frequently as inspiration. Why they dress, talk, and behave the way they do The reason why bohemians talk, dress, and behave the way they do is to show non-comformity with society, to look non-bourgeois, spirited and nomadic, and to show that they are more ways of expressing inner life than throughout clothing. Would i join the bohemian subculture I honestly would not join the bohemian subculture because i would not like to be a wanderer, vagabond or live on voluntarily poverty without nothing to posses or without a stable place to live in , and i personally have more strict morals. Non material culture
