Nail Polish Drying Time Science Experiment Problem/Purpose The purpose of this experiment is to see which nail polish out of the brands China Glaze, Wild Shine, and O.P.I. dries the quickest. Hypothesis If the China Glaze nail polish brand has the quickest drying time then the other brands O.P.I. and Wild Shine, wouldn't have the quickest drying time because China Glaze nail polish is runnier and less thick than the other brands of nail polish. Materials Three different brands of nail polish(Wild Shine, China Glaze, and O.P.I.) and a timer. Procedure: Step 1: Make sure all nails are clear of nail polish before you start this experiment. Step 2: Put any color of nail polish on one nail and cover the whole nail with only 1 coat/layer. Step 3: Start a timer once you put one coat of nail polish on one finger nail. Step 4: After 30 seconds, test the nail polish by dabbing on your nail until there is no more stickiness on your nail. Step 5: Stop the timer and record, in seconds, how fast your nail polish dried. Step 6: Repeat steps 1-4 two more times with using other nails to put your other nail polish brands on. Illustrations 3 brands of nail polish China Glaze O.P.I. Wild Shine Safety In this experiment, you have to follow instructions, because if you put more than one coat of nail polish on then your drying time would be different because your nail would have more layers on it. DATA Conclusion Reflection The hypothesis was correct, because the brand of nail polish, China Glaze, had the quickest drying time; 62 seconds. The brand Wild Shine was the second quickest to dry with an average time of 68 seconds and O.P.I. was the slowest drying time out of the three dying times of nail polish with an average time of 81 seconds. Compared to the other results of my experiment they were accurate because the brand of nail polish, China Glaze, had the quickest drying time for both as well as Wild Shine with the second quickest drying time. Following was the brand O.P.I. with the slowest amount of nail polish drying time.

Out of these three brands, China Glaze, Wild Shine, and O.P.I., the brand, China Glaze has the quickest nail polish drying time. The brand of nail polish that has the best value is China Glaze. Nail Polish Drying Time(My Data)
