It was also the first completed (October 1, 1971). There are many attractions and thrill rides for people of all ages. The castle is the park's icon. Epcot Epcot is the second Disney park built. It opened October 1, 1982. It is known for its large geosphere in the center of the park. There are two parts of the 300 acre park- Future World and World Showcase. Hollywood Studios Hollywood Studios was the third park built. It opened on May 1, 1989. The icon is the giant sorcerer's hat in the center of the park. Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom was the last Disney park to be constructed. It opened on earth day- April 22, 1998. The park is entirely themed on animal conservation. Monorail Monorail is a convenient way of transportation to and from the parks. They are especially useful for people without a car or people who don't want to drive. They can even be fun to ride. They can reach a top speed of 55 mph and have an average speed of 40 mph. There 6 monorail stations. There are 3 monorail routes within Walt Disney World. They are the Express, Resort, and Epcot lines. The Walt Disney World Monorail network was extended 7.5 miles to connect to Epcot. Monorails go to all of the Parks, and three hotels (Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian Resort. Income https://www.thinglink.com/scene/394149413695520769#tlsite Attractions Spaceship Earth Spaceship Earth is a time-machine themed ride, and is one of the main features at Epcot. It is located inside the iconic 16 million pound, 180 foot tall geosphere. "The 15-minute dark ride shows guests how advancements in human communication have helped to create the future one step at a time." Soarin' Sorin' is a virtual hang gliding trip over California. The area of the building in which Soarin’is located is 59,895 sq feet. Test Track Epcot's Test Track is a high speed ride simulating a performance test for a car. The track is almost a mile long. It has banked curves of up to 50-degrees and speeds of up to 60-65 mph. Each car has 22 wheels, but only 4 are showing. There is a 100° Fahrenheit temperature difference between the hottest and coldest test rooms on test track. Pirates of the Caribbean Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most popular rides in Disney. It has 125 audio animatronics figures, 65 pirates and villagers, and 60 animals and birds. The ride has 155,000 gallons of water and a 14 foot plunge Rockin' Roller Coaster Rockin’ roller coaster is a thrill roller coaster with high speed loops and turns. It is 3304 ft long- about 2.5 laps around the track outside!
There are 900 total speakers for sound effects!
The cars accelerates to 57mph in 2.8 seconds! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a roller coaster that mimics a runaway train. It is the tallest "mountain" in Disney World at 197 feet above sea level. There are 15 rows on the train.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad uses 4,000 gallons of paint and 900,000 gallons of water. Mission- Space The Mission-Space ride is a flight simulator of a mission to space. It is set in the year 2036. It's 2012 income was $42.3 billion. It is the 28th largest company in America (including the entire company). Park Employees Most sources say that starting pay for a low rank job is very low- just over minimum wage ($7-$12 per hour). Some people get paid as much as $30,000- $40,000 a year
Disney is responsible for about 1 in 50 jobs in Florida. He also had three brothers and a sister(Herbert,Raymond, Roy, and Ruth) Signature Hotels There are 23 total hotels at Walt Disney World. One of them, the Polynesian resort, has 847 rooms. The Grand Floridian has 867 rooms. The Contemporary resort, has 655 rooms and is 15 stories tall. The Contemporary and Polynesian resorts are the original Disney hotels. The Contemporary and Polynesian resorts were the first to open (October 1, 1971). Each of these has a monorail station in them.
