for importance Conclusion Robinson was born Jan. 31 1919 and passed away Oct. 24 1972. He was born in Cario Georgia he went to John Muir High School and UCLA. He played in the negro league with the Kansas City Monarchs before joining major league baseball. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Rookie year he won the NL Rookie of the Year. 2 years later he won the NL MVP award. He was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1962. Jackie Robinson was one of the most important figures of the 1930's. He played and lettered in 4 different sports at the college of UCLA. Was the first black to play in the MLB and is also a hero to many. Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier for the MLB. He showed that anyone could play sports no matter what color you were. He alawys wanted to be a baseball player. He showed he could play in the Negro League and thought it was unfair he couldn't paly in the Major Leagues. Jackie Robinson is the first player at The University of California in Las Angeles to letter in 4 sports. He lettered in track, football, basketball, and baseball. This showed that you can play whatever sport you want. One of the most heroic figures to ever live. Jackie Robinson is not only a hero to african americans but also to baseball players. He is a hall of fame player which kids look up to. They always want to be a star whick Robinson was. He is a hero too, to the african americans. He showed that blacks can do the same as whites. That is how Jackie is a big heroic figure. Starting his fame in 1937 Jackie Robinson became one of the most important figures to come out of the 1930's. Who knows if Jackie Robinson was not introduced to the Major Leagues baseball would still be segragated. That could mean there wouldn't of been Hank Aaron, Ken Griffey Jr., Barry Bonds, Bo Jackson, Willy Mays. Current players who might of not been her if it werent for Jackie Robinson Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, CC Sabathia, or the Rockies Eric Young Jr. or Dexter Fowler
