Converging Technology Converging technologies are devices that offer addtional functions on top of the one they were originally designed for. In particular, many now incorporate device to device
communication and access to the internet. An example of such a device would
be a modern mobile phone Many mobile phones now allow the user access to the WWW using wireless application protocol technology and a microbrowser, built into the phone. This allows people to access their email whilst they are on the move or away from their computer. Converging technologies are not to be confused with embedded computers, as these are two distictly different things
