•Open manipulator fingers to index.
•Turn motor shaft clockwise to index point.
•Turn motor shaft counter-clockwise 35 pulses of the encoder.
•Lower control arm until resistance is detected on manipulator 'down' pressure switch•close manipulator fingers until fingertip pressure detector detects resistance.
•Raise control arm to index Medical Robots Bibliography How is the robot taught to perform its task? By Tanu Singh and Chanell Bond What sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use these sensors? What task and what human function do medical robots simulate? -Perform surgery
-Deliver daily meds
-Transportation Where is the robot used and what is its work envelope? -Surgery
-Education Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? If so, what other tasks can it perform? - foward, backward, up, and down
-at least 6 degrees of freedom,
and 7 flexible joints -Yes, the end effector is multifunctional
-transportation -A 3D image
-exact location of the end effector Advantages
minimum staff= reduced costs
less or no risk of wearing down
greater degree of precision
reduses pain, discomfort and scarring
mistakes by the surgeon
expensive and difficult to produce
takes longer to preform a surgery The impact that this robot has had or could have on its intended audience. They help in the Hospital so they perform everyday in front of everyone. Teach medical students by demonstrating a real surgery! What type of jobs/careers can this robot create to provide employment for people? Medical robots can help nurses with the daily need of patients in recovery. They can help in clinics, do hospital work, and of course assist doctors in surgery! How may this robot be altered to perform more or different tasks in the future. All of the robots disadvantages can be worked out, and then it will be able to preform any surgery, from the simplest to the very complicated ones. LET'S SEE IT WITH OUR
