and Truman Burbank from
The Truman Show
have many similarities.
Similarities between Montag and Truman
Both Guy Montag and Truman Burbank do not like dogs.
"Montag touched the muzzle. The Hound growled. Montag jumped back... 'No, no, boy,' said Montag, his heart pounding." (page 25)
For Truman every day his neighbor's dog comes over to him and Truman tries to make the dog go away.

Still similar
Truman's wife wants new things.
Guy's wife wants him to buy a fourth wall t.v.
"It'll be even more fun when we can afford to have the fourth wall installed. How long you figure before we save up and get the fourth wall torn out and a fourth wall-TV in? It's only two thousand dollars?" (page 20)
Truman's wife is always buying the newest item she finds.
Job Change
Truman doet want to be an insurance salesman anymore.
Montag dose not want to burn books anymore.
Truman wants to quit and go to Fiji while Montag wants to stop burning books and save them.
The director/producer has controlled Truman since he was a baby. Truman never knew he was in a T.V. set all his life.
Montag kind of knew the world he lived but the government controlled the information he received.
Both Montag and Truman only knew the information given to them.
Different controlling
Truman did not know his surroundings were being controlled.
Montag knew his surroundings were being controlled by the government.
Despite their differences Guy Montag and Truman Burbank are similar in many ways.
