Transcript of Johnny Depp
How He Fought Adversity
One way Depp overcame adversity was through music and acting. When he played his guitar, acted, or even sang it distracted him from everything else he was going through. His mom helped a little bit here and there when it came to adversity, but because his parents were divorced he did not get help from his dad whatsoever.
How He Contributes Today
Today, Johnny sponsors many causes such as Actors Fund of America, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and War Child. He has also contributed to society by his acting and producing films for us to see. Johnny wasn't very successful at first but joining a garage band did help get him out there.
Johnny Depp's real name is John Christopher Depp II. He is an american actor, film producer, and musician. He has won many awards such as the Screen Actors Guild award for Best Actor. His first film he was noticed in was 21 Jump Street. Johnny has been married to Lori Anne Allison, and Vanessa Paradis. Currently he is engaged to Amber Heard. Depp also has two kids. He has been in multiple films including Pirates of the Caribbean, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, Rango, and The Lone Ranger.
Johnny's family moved seven times when he was young. This upset him so when he was twelve he started smoking, drinking, and taking drugs. When he was fifteen his parents got divorced. Since he was the youngest it was Johnny who had to go to his father's office and pick up the weekly child-support money. This eventually tore Johnny and his dad apart. When he was sixteen he dropped out of high school and later joined a garage band. Depp and the band didn't end up getting very far and he himself ended up having to sleep in a friends car.
