The Modern Family & Deuteronomy 6
Transcript of The Modern Family & Deuteronomy 6
Lack of Knowledge
Fear of not having all the right answers.
They have never seen it done. SHEMA “Authenticity is a core value of the Shema. God asks people to first have these commandments on their hearts before they ever try to pass them down to their children... Why? Parents are the primary faith influencers in their children’s lives by design. To equip the generations effectively, we must reach and equip parents.” ~Brian Haynes, Shift The Modern Family
& Deuteronomy 6 Share stories!!! Have a Faith Talk!
Family Faith Celebrations! Whenever you do anything that’s of God, you face obstacles! “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-8) The Church was never intended to be a substitute for the home. Helping children and youth grow in their relationship with God is a biblical partnership that involves the family and the church. ~Brian Haynes, Shift Family Ministry = Partnership with Parents!!!
