Selenium occurs naturally in volcanic and sedimentary rocks (Hopps & Cannon, 1972), which are found in south-central B.C. (Ewing, 1981), and it is released into the environment through weathering
limited understanding of the environmental chemistry of B.C. aquifers,
specifically with regard to their background concentrations of metals/metalloids that may be of significance to human health and geographic distribution
