Links to help keep safe Viruses are computer programs that are designed to wipe out your computer and make your life a misery. This kind of virus is called a boot sector virus. Viruses come in the form of e-mails, pop ups and "free" downloads.
Limewire is a major culprit in the spreading of viruses.
Firewalls and protectors have been invented to stop viruses coming in to your computer. You can pay for firewalls such as Norton or you can download (legal, virus free) Windows Defender or AVG.
If you have a choice of computers, I recommemend Apple computers as there are not many viruses made for these kinds of computers. http://www.cybersmart.gov.au/Kids/Fun%20things%20to%20do/How%20cybersmart%20am%20I.aspx http://www.cybersmart.gov.au/en/Kids.aspx http://www.spamlaws.com/computer-virus.html P. Posting online can be harmful to your feelings and may result in bullying that can harm you physically. Think before you post O. OH NO!!! When you see a free ringtone etc. on a popup or email do not click on it. Either delete it or click close as these may contain viruses. S. Say something nice or nothing at all. Don't say or post anything that you wouldn't say to your principal's face. Tell your parent or a teacher if you see anything inappropriate on the Internet.
