1) I assume
everything
is copyrighted

2) I
limit
the amount of an original work that I use

3) I accurately
credit the source by citing
in an appropriate format

4) I credit everything not completely original to me
including images
10 Percent Rule
Motion Pictures, 10 percent or 3 minutes
Text, 10 percent or 1000 words
Music, 10 percent or 30 seconds
Photos or Illustrations , 10 percent, not
more than five per artist
Poems, entire poem, if less than 250 words,
but 3 excerpts per anthology
Databases, 10 percent or 2500 fields or cell entries
AVOID...
The rule is to use whichever
of the above is LESS!
In the Digital Age, knowing these things
is increasingly important,
