Reservoirs
A Streptococcus carriers and infected and sick individuals are the most common reservoirs of the bacteria.
Children are the most commonly infected with the disease and are also common vectors.
Susceptible Host
Children, infected person, and humans.
Infectious Agent
The cause of strep throat is bacteria known as Streptococcus pyogenes, also known as group A streptococcus. Streptococcal bacteria are highly contagious.
Chain of Infection- Strep Throat
It is usually transmitted by close contact with the saliva or nasal secretions from an infected individual. Typically in the form of airborne respiratory droplets.
Opening in skin or in the mouth and stays in throat.
