A Vision That Didn't Live To Be A Reality Abraham Lincoln, murdered November 3, 1860 Abraham Lincoln did not become the 16th president of the United States of America because he was assassinated one day before the announcement of the next president. The Emancipation Proclamation was never issued. The Southern States won the Civil War. Slaves weren't able to aid the U.S. Military during the war. The Union army(Nothern States) were in need of manpower. The Emancipation Proclamation would have paved a way for the start of a new revolution for African Americans. Johnson. This was so iconic not only because it freed the slaves, but also because Johnson was a democrat. He broke the chain of a long list of presidents who were democrats that did not want slavery to end. Lyndon B. Johnson was heavily criticized because of it. Up to this point, in 2010, Johnson is listed one of the most repected presidents in American history. Slaves were freed and were finally able to live life out of chains. It has taken a long time for African Americans make a difference in the United States, but in 2010, African Americans are some of the most successful people in life. They have changed the world just as much as any other race. The Emancipation Proclamation has made America realize how much African Americans can change the world. It allowed for blacks to get a real education, as high as a college diploma. It paved the way for former slaves and younger generations of blacks to become the most successful doctors, lawyers, policeman, etc that this country has ever seen. The Emancipation Proclamtion has really come along way from only freeing sleaves and helping them start life. It has brought us the dream that should have happened in 1865, as promised by Abraham Lincoln before he even became president. Abraham Lincoln is looking down on America proudly as his vision has been set to reality. Let The Dream Become Reality... Lyndon B. Johnson
