Not what is the variable, but WHO. We never forget that one time. We decide the tone of our school. The sense of calm. Teachers do the best they know how. we can't teach from the office. Experience is not the best teacher; the best teacher is the best teacher. Hire for talent. Wanted: Leaders! Effective principals keep testing in perspective. A change in behavior naturally leads to a change in beliefs. To the students. Effective principals always consider what their best teachers will think. make people who do the right thing feel comfortable. Ignore minor errors, provide autonomy & recognition. Just do what is right, no matter what others do around you. Some never need to repair- but always do; some always need to repair- but never do. 5 little words: "I am sorry that happened." Clearly established, focused on the future, and consistently reinforced. this is both reasonable and fair.
