Sharing Places
Making Choices
Experiencing Respect
Growing In Relationships
Making Contributions
Facebook used to be just for college students, but now, it's for everyone. In 2019, people will say "Starfire used to be just for people with disabilities. Now it's for everyone."
Our world wants to treat everyone the same, like boxes in a warehouse. What we should be doing is try to "unwarehouse" people and treat them as the unique individuals that they are.
Starfire is not a place...It's a state of mind...A way of being with others...and it can be anywhere at any time!
I feel safe when people know me and I know them.
If I go to a store, it’s just a transaction. I buy my stuff and leave. But if someone knows me or my children, it becomes more than a transaction. It feels like a different place.
In 2019, Starfire helps people find ways that they can be pillars of our community.
Starfire can be like an apple. It's the place where the seeds are planted, where the roots grow and your branches reach out and grow the fruits of each person.
They’re like a friendship-factory! They keep introducing me to other people.
I kept going back over and over and became a regular…like on Cheers!
Relationships take time. They need to simmer and stew.
I know I'm respected when I hear good things other people say about me.
In 2019, Starfire is a place where everyone is known for what they have to offer.
Giving doesn't just have to be some big service project.
If I didn't have the choice to be a vegetarian, I don't feel like I could be myself.
Starfire should be "a la carte," with different levels of participation and depth.
By 2019, Every person involved with Starfire would have a PATH done.
It was so natural. We struck up a conversation and it grew from there. So you just never know.
Starfire could help people find and get to know each other.
In 2019, there is no "place" where people convene.
The "place" is out in the world anywhere where we learn and live together.
Relationships cannot be a one-way street. They need to be based on mutual respect.
Good friends help me understand the consequences of my decisions and they stand by me, whether the results are good or bad.
If Starfire helps everyone get more people in their life, then we'll all have someone to turn to.
