Qualitive VS. Quantitive observations


A qualitive observation is a general observation. A quantitive observation is a numeric observation.
LIGHT!
Electromagnetic radiation

Light gives off photons, and that's what our eyes pick up!
ATOMS
Atoms have a core nucleus which contains protons and neutrons. Electrons orbit around atoms (like planets orbit around the sun).
The electrons are separated into orbitals. The outermost orbital contains VALENCE ELECTRONS. Valence electrons are very important because they decide how the atom changes to an ion!
Periodic Table

The periodic table organizes all of earth's elements. It is very important to learn the patterns because it is used almost every day in Chemistry!
Chemistry is used all over the world. It's very important because without chemistry, we wouldn't know how to make many things that we use every day!
