Rene-Robert Cavelier, de La Salle. Our explorer is Rene-Robert Cavelier, de La Salle. His real name is Robert Cavelier. He was born on November 21st, 1643, he died on March 19, 1687(43 years old). The nationality of our explorer is Rouen, France(french). The areas he discovered in Canada are the Great rivers. The dates to his travelings are 1670, 1688, 1679-1682. Rene-Robert Cavelier, de La Salle Rene-Robert Cavlier, de La Salle The major discoveries or accomplishment is finding the great rivers in Canada(such as Lake Ontario, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, Lake Mi and the U.S. He discovered the mouth of the Mississippi river. He also made forts such as Fort Fronteac, and Fort Nigara. The mission he failed that the King Louis xiv requested was to conquer and invade part of spanish province of Mexico, but he died during the battle. THE END! By; Michelle and Sophia! Rene-Robert Cavelier, de La Salle! Robert Cavelier explored Canada. He actually wanted to be a farmer, but got interested in fur trading. So when he got to Canada, he did some fur trading. He didn't keep working as a trader though. Then he sold all his land to go back to France and came back with an italian explorer. After that, he went back to France to get the king to support him in his journey. So the king accepted his request and allow Robert to keep exploring North America.(New France.) This is King Louis XIV. Positive effects Negative effects What effects did this explorer cause in North America? - He was able to communicate with the First Nations so they could trade.

- He never gave up
_ He worked as hard as he can. -During the trip, he didn't really get along with the other leaders.
-He got sick during the trip, so many of his men deserted him and the expedition.
