Transcript of Discovering Your Transfer Options

The IAI is an agreement among participating institutions on how credits will transfer
Students who follow the recommendations developed for IAI and consult with an advisor are more likely to transfer without losing credits
Students who complete and Associate of Arts (AA) or Science (AS) at KC will have met the 4 year school's lower division general ed requirements
Other Associate degrees, such as KC's Associate in Engineering Science (AES) are designed to facilitate transfer leading to Junior standing.
Students who know their intended major, but not their intended transfer school can complete recommendations of coursework for that major to ensure they are on track with major requirements for transfer.
Transfer Basics
You are the majority! In Illinois, 60% of graduates have earned transfer credit and more than 40,000 students transfer among IL colleges & universities each Fall.
Planning + Guidance=Smooth Transfer Process.
If you transfer to any of the 100+ public/private 2 or 4 year institutions that participate in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), you will know with certainty in advance how your credits will transfer.
Online Resources
www.itransfer.org: iTransfer is the Illinois transfer website that can answer questions about IAI.
www.transfer.org/uSelect: free, online nationwide tool that allows students to obtain program requirements, view course equivalencies, and make a degree plan mapping out progress towards intended major at transfer school.
