Traditional Question:

Where is the Library?
New Question:

When is the Library?
But.....WHAT is the library?

Students recognize a subtle hierarchy of (re)search categories.

Interviewer: Do you often need just the abstract?

Sarah: No, I need the whole article usually. If it’s a serious paper…If it’s a serious paper, like, something that is upper division, then I need more than abstract. If it is lower division, they’re not really even paying attention, yeah, then it’s like, I can use anything. I can go to a dot com site.
Future questions:

We have some hints that students

from each other and on their own

but

the particulars are (as yet) unexplored

Research is hard

and the stakes high

What if it could be eased?
