Brand vs. Identity
Identity is what you can control in order to shape the customer (or candidate) perception of your brand. Brand is something that is only in your control by what you contribute via your identity.

Your brand resides within the hearts and minds of customers, clients, and prospects. It is the sum total of their experiences and perceptions, some of which you can influence, and some that you cannot.
Your brand should guide your thinking and your actions, not the other way around.

How do you want others to describe you?
Who are you trying to reach via social media?
Why are you trying to reach your audience?
What needs to be done in order for you to reach your objectives?
What social tools will best help you to reach your audience?
