Thank you for completing Miami iQ.
iQ
Regulations and penalties for students who violate academic integrity are listed in the Student Handbook and the Graduate Handbook.

It's your responsibility to learn about what behaviors are considered as academic misconduct and prevent yourself and others from carrying out those behaviors.
There are various search tools available for locating scholarly, peer-reviewed resources including Google Scholar and Academic Search Complete.

Miami University Libraries also provide a searchable catalog and Research By Subject feature to make finding reputable information easier.
Google Scholar can be used to search for scholarly publications that have been published online or citations of other scholarly works to which the scholarly publications have referred but it can only give access to a very small amount of the scholarly information that is available. Research databases, such as Academic Search Complete and Research By Subject are the best places to look for scholarly information.

WHOIS databases, like InterNIC WhoIs Service, are tools you can utilize to identify who owns a web site. These databases allow for better evalutation of internet-based information by determining the source of the information.
Whenever you use another person's ideas you must give credit to the source of that information. The citation format you use to document your sources will be determined by the citation syle you or your professor choose. The Online Reference Shelf has citation guides and style manuals to help you arrange your in-text citations and reference lists.

There are several websites, such as OLinks Reference Formatter, Citation Machine, and RefWorks, that make working with your sources easier by creating and formatting reference lists from the information you provide.
