21st Century Skills: Learning for Life in Our Times
21st Century Educator Externs Will:
Gain experience, knowledge, insight and skills to take back to the classroom
Be introduced to modern workplace
Work together with employers to better understand what students need to be successful. 
Learn ways to connect the classroom to the modern world. 
Construct new answers to the age-old question, “Why do we have to learn this?” 
Help employers understand the importance of classroom instruction and what teachers do. 
Have a real world experience in a career field related to their teaching field. 
Build alliances with local employers and gain personal mentors from the field. 
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop inquiry-based, contextual learning mod-ules.
